Originally from Millington, Tennessee, a small town outside of Memphis, Dr. Pietrangelo is quick to say he’s not a big-city person. So, when deciding where to practice medicine, he found Boice-Willis Clinic, serving Rocky Mount and surrounding rural communities, a perfect fit. As a medical student and internal medicine resident, he spent four years in Wilmington, NC followed by his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at East Carolina University in Greenville.
A pulmonary and critical care specialist, Dr. Pietrangelo treats patients with all types of pulmonary disease and conditions, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. Notably, he has completed extensive research in the early detection of lung cancer and feels deeply that people should be able to be diagnosed and treated for cancer and other major illnesses in their hometown, rather than having to travel to a big city.
Dr. Pietrangelo is board certified in pulmonary care and internal medicine.
“I really like the people and towns of eastern North Carolina. I feel a great deal of comfort here and look forward to providing a very high standard of care for this community.”
